Research Interests & Projects

Dr. De Coste’s primary research interests are in the field of hydrology, where he has worked on several projects related to the prediction of floods and ice events on rivers. These studies have involved the application of physical modelling, machine learning, ontologies, and risk analysis, and have been published in several high impact journals. His current research focuses on applications of risk assessment to water security issues in Indigenous communities and the prediction of flood levels under climate change.
